everyone in my class is going to cheat on a test, and no matter how hard I study, I will probably fail, would I cheat? There are a lot of things to consider when answering this question. If I did cheat, I don't wouldn't deserve the grade I receive, but the same thing applies if I did not cheat; everyone in class would receive good grades, and the grading curve would ensure a D or an F for me, which I also would not deserve. So when it comes down to it, I can let myself get a terrible grade but keep my honesty in the process, or I can cheat, lose my honesty, get the A, and study for the next test hoping the same thing won't happen again.
The option I would choose is the second one. By studying, I believe I would be letting myself fall a victim to a bunch of people that are too lazy to do anything. I know that cheating would make me a hypocrite, but this is the way I see it: sometimes you have to let go of your values in order to get what you deserve. If studying like crazy for this exam will not get you an A, then you shouldn't. If the only thing that will get you on top of this situation it to cheat, then I say do what's best for you, and swallow your pride. Taking a shortcut to achieve your goal is not always fair and the right thing to do, but I believe that it is the logical thing to do.
If you take this question and broaden it to something like your career, you will find that many people in the business community also take shortcuts to get their career moving, fair of not. There is no denying this, and honestly, I wish it wasn't that way. However it is, and the only way to get ahead is to become better at it that your competitor. If I had the choice to become unsuccesful with all my honesty and dignity in tact, or lose some of it and become a succesful man, I wou.
